Rupert Reading Session #4 Karolina Rybačiauskaitė: Experimenting with Togetherness
The fourth of Rupert’s online reading sessions, ‘Experimenting with Togetherness’, will take place on Zoom, on 9 July, 18:30 EEST. In this session, a researcher and Rupert’s resident Karolina Rybačiauskaitė in relation to her research on the ecology of artistic practices will invite to sense the possibilities of answering the challenges within the current milieu of art institutions. We will start from the recent dialog between Lucy Cotter and Sarah Rifky on ‘The Future of Institutions’ (2019) by responding to their proposals and concerns and letting the conversation to be continued. We will connect several ideas such as the inability to be tenable, the arrogance as dealing with the artworks and the competence of diplomacy with the specific kind of caring and the technology of belonging suggested by Isabelle Stengers. Participants are also invited to share the ways of empowering themselves in their own practices.
