Jame St Findlay
November, 2020
James St Findlay (Scotland) is an, at present, London based cross-disciplinary artist working primarily in the mediums of film, performance, and sound. They are a 2016 Graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and are currently awaiting commencement of their studies at The Royal Academy Schools in October of 2021. Their work is centric to universal themes of melodrama, love, sex, loss, and interdependency. They are also interested in the tropes and aesthetics of devotion, or the means by which something/somewhere/someone becomes sacrosanct. Whilst resident at RUPERT, St Findlay will be primarily focussing on a choral project, harvesting out-sourced untrained singing voices in the hope of creating a “choir” that exists in a purely non-physical realm.
