Stephanie Rizaj

Stephanie Rizaj is a visual artist who lives and works between Brussels and Vienna. Her artistic practice encompasses site-specific installations, videos, and sculptures. Rizaj’s work explores the brutality of everyday life, power relations, production conditions, class structures and the collective desire to belong. Rizaj has exhibited work internationally in various exhibitions and festivals, including Manifesta 13 Marseille (FR), Loop Barcelona, (ES), Stedelijk Museum (NL), Botanique (BE), Diagonale (AT), Dokufest (XK), Galerie 17 (XK), Galerie Emila Filly (CZ) oder Ebute-Metta, Lagos (NG). Amongst other prizes, she has been awarded the Theodor Körner Prize (AT). Through the process of (re:)writing, (re:)listening, (re:)editing, (re:)placing and (re:)shifting she examines the intersection of memory, material and the everyday.
