Adriana Ramić

Adriana Ramić is based in New York City, and currently working, among other projects, on a longterm research on the question of materializing systems of cognition and chronologies. Her work has been exhibited in Witte de With Museum for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam, NL); Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna, AT); Moderna Museet (Stockholm, SE); Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain (Paris, FR); LUMA Westbau (Zürich, CH); Kunstpalais (Erlangen, DE); the Museum of Contemporary Art (Denver, CO), and discussed in publications such as the New York Times, Wired, Rhizome, and Dis Magazine. She was an artist in residence at Rupert (Vilnius, LT), the Google Cultural Institute (Paris, FR), and Sunhoo Industrial Design Park (Fuyang, CN), and has spoken at LUCA School of Arts (Ghent, BE), University of the Arts Helsinki (Helsinki, FI), and Yale School of Art (New Haven, CT).

During Rupert residency, Adriana questioned: “What does time’s passage impress upon us? A wasp arrived in my room at Rupert, where I had placed pieces 1–12 of a wooden sleeping snail in the shape of a clock, and proceeded to fly from piece to piece, suggesting a new order of chronology. Beneath a sundial on Parnidis dune, ants traveled across topologies narrating a poem of a journey into the mist”.
