Documentation | The Administrator and the Enthusiast. AEP Public Event

On Thursday, July 31 at 6 PM, Rupert hosted “The Administrator and the Enthusiast” at the Radvila Palace Museum of Art. The event brought together international mentors from Rupert’s Alternative Education Program (AEP) and was the only AEP event open to the public ahead of the final festival scheduled for November.
Curated by Goda Palekaitė, this year’s AEP program explored new ways of thinking about the structures of artistic life and practice, the artist’s relationship with institutions, and artistic work as a form of labor. Making their first appearance in Vilnius, artists Vijai Maia Patchineelam and Kris Dittel embodied the event’s central theme, “The Administrator and the Enthusiast.” The evening featured a performative lecture, video screenings, a listening session, and a lively discussion that invited attendees to reflect on the artist’s role within institutional settings—and more broadly, on how creators and workers navigate shifting roles and expectations.
Special thanks goes to Matas Šatūnas, Radvila Palace Art Museum, Draugų Vardai, Contemporary Art Centre, AEP curator Goda Palekaitė and curator JL Murtaugh, coordinator Aistė Frišmantaitė, and communications coordinator Aistė Marija Stankevičiūtė.
