Austėja Masliukaitė

Austėja Masliukaitė (b. 1993) lives and works in Vilnius. She graduated from the Photography and Media Arts department at the Vilnius Academy of Art as well as the Naples Academy of Fine Arts, having read Mathematics and Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh before that. In 2020 she received a Master’s in Semiotics from Vilnius University. Austėja is an interdisciplinary artist working with sculpture, photography, video, installation, and sound. She writes and translates texts, creates music, participates in projects in Lithuania and abroad, including the Lithuanian performance “Sun & Sea” at the 58th Venice Biennial. The latest group exhibition “Whirlpools” in which she took part, happened at the VAA’s exhibition hall “Titanikas” in Vilnius earlier this year.
