Workshop

Can you tell me, your Honor, where behind a lamp-post is?

In their collaboration Sanna Marander and Niklas Tafra often work with the exhibition as a medium, with the poetic potential of its limited capacities of reproducing processes. Here, text that frame art become central as artistic material. Taking a point of departure in symbolist art criticism of poet and anarchist Felix Fénéon, the workshop is a reflection on this subject. The artists will present part of their ongoing work and propose a series of writing exercises.

Sanna Marander works with text, performance, objects, stumblingly looking for the reason behind artistic practice. She works both alone and in collaboration with other artists and writers. Her work has recently been presented at 21er Haus in Vienna, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kunstverein Milano, Gävle Konstmuseum, Gallerie Invaliden in Berlin, Galleria Vistamare in Pescara, Italy.

Niklas Tafra works with the impossibilities of language, trying to find the cracks where communication collapses. Works? Yes. There are many. They have been presented at 21er Haus in Vienna, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kunstverein Milano, Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm, Apiary Gallary in London, Vita Kuben in Umeå, Note On in Berlin, inter alia.
