David Bernstein: Cheers to the Miss standing under the table doing karate

We invite you to a celebration of wood on the first official day of summer. David Bernstein, artist in residence, will present his new wooden sculpture, a table with a single leg carved as a caryatid doing karate. The work derives from the text, “Thinging” a linguistic game with friend and artist Jurgis Paškevičius. The afternoon will begin with a speech, a cheers, and continue with a barbecue. Food will be provided, but please byob (bring your own beer) Special thanks to Antanas Gerlikas, Maestro Algirdas Verseckas, and Maestro Jonas Bugailiškis for all their help in making the work possible. David Bernstein (1988, San Antonio, Texas) is an artist based in Amsterdam. He combines performance, sculpture, and writing to tell stories through objects.
