Rupert’s 10th anniversary event – Wheel of Fortune
This year, Rupert turns 10! It has been an incredible journey and we would like to thank you for being with us throughout all these years and invite you to a birthday gathering.
Although 2022 has also become a year marked by war in Ukraine, we believe that now more than ever it is important to foster space for communality, solidarity, peace and share our visions of the world. Indeed, what we have observed is the shaping force of freedom. Especially now, as Rupert reflects on the past and sees that it became what it is because it was born in a free country—created, raised and nurtured by independent minds. With the intention of creating an opportunity for gathering, we kindly invite you to join us on August 20, 2022 to spin the Wheel of Fortune.
We will spin the Wheel of Fortune to revise the past and future of Rupert as a multifaceted initiative with its development being closely tied to all of your and our contributions. We invited past residents, programme participants as well as artists new to Rupert to share their artworks, music and performances: Andrius Arutiunian, duo Eye Gymnastics (Viktorija Damerell and Gailė Griciūtė), Holly Childs and Gediminas Žygus, Finnish artist Essi Kausalainen together with singers Renata Dubinskaitė and Nerijus Masevičius, DJ Dodomundo, installations by Ieva Rojūtė, Tomas Daukša, Vladas Suncovas and an exhibition of artworks by Monika Radžiūnaitė, Simona Žemaitytė, Delphine Lejeune and Philip Coyne in one of Rupert studios.
We must remind you that the Wheel of Fortune is magical and does not believe in linear time so you are welcome to join at any point of the day. Depending on the time, you might stumble upon a performance, an installation, a beverage by the fire or a fellow that you shared precious moments with.
